Tang Ting | 汤庭

Tang Ting is a Shanghai-based photographer known for his natural approach to capturing movement, storytelling, and intimate portraiture. His work has been recognized for its ability to reveal the essence of his subjects—whether in commercial campaigns, editorial features, or personal projects documenting China’s creative youth culture.

He has worked with global brands such as Nike, Adidas, Apple, Converse, Vans, and Bose, and his photography has been featured in leading publications including Vice, Centrefold, Noisey, Monocle, and Numéro. His personal series Slow Dreams earned a Special Mention at the Becas Roberto Villagraz Award in 2013. In 2016, he documented the China National Team’s training for the Rio Olympics for Nike.

In 2021, he published Tropical Polyester, a photography book exploring Thailand’s football jersey culture, blending sports, fashion, and street identity in a visually compelling narrative.

Tang Ting’s imagery, whether fashion editorials, raw rock-scene moments, or quiet landscapes, is distinguished by its striking textures, rich color palettes, and a unique balance between stillness and emotion. His photographs provide an honest and intimate perspective on modern youth culture, resonating with a sense of humor, listlessness, and quiet reflection.
